School Supplies for Children Project - Deadline: August 8th

Once again our church has been invited to participate in this project sponsored by Jefferson County Community Ministries. We have been asked to provide 40 backpacks for intermediate-grade students.

To participate, purchase a backpack and provide the supplies listed below. Then bring it to church with you on or before August 8th. The bags will be delivered to the JCCM office for sorting and distribution.

You will never know the child who will carry “your” backpack proudly to school, but you will know that because you cared, one child has been given a helping hand that could make a huge difference in his or her life.

• (1) 2 inch 3-Ring Binder
• (3) packs of wide-ruled notebook paper
• (6) #2 pencils

You can also choose to contribute any of the extra supplies listed below. These items are needed by school counselors and teachers on an emergency basis and will be much appreciated! (please do not include these items inside the bookbags, separate)

*glue sticks *crayons *pencil boxes *children’s socks sizes 2-9
*wide ruled notebook paper *children’s shoes sizes 2-9

Here are a few guidelines to follow: Do not put the supplies in the backpack, put them in a plastic bag attached to the backpack. Remove the bar code from the backpack label. Please do not include “extras” of any kind, including notes or cards. This ensures that every child gets the same supplies.

Thank You!

"Show me how you work, God; School me in your ways.

Take me by the hand; Lead me down the path of truth."

Psalm 25:4-5 (The Message)

When Miss Knowsalot's class at Life School begins on this particular Friday, the students have no idea what a special day it is destined to be! Ben, the new kid, and all the other students get the surprise of their life when colorful characters from the Bible materialize on the scene to truly bring their lessons to life.

While all they can think of when class starts is the impending weekend, by the end of this delightful romp they have come face to face with the life-changing power of the Gospel, and they've been handed the "keys to life" by some very special characters.

Erupting with some of the coolest music ever in a kids musical, Life School Musical will captivate your kids from the opening "drum-line" intro to the joyous curtain call. Not only will the music grab their attention, but the Biblical truths in the story can change their lives!

Created by Pam Andrews, Rob Howard and David Guthrie for the new kids music company, Little Big Stuff Music

Hometown Nazareth VBS is coming up!!

Vacation Bible School will be the week of July 11th through the 15th this year. Ages Pre-School through the 5th grade (completed).

Everyone knows what it's like to hear your mom tell stories from your childhood. Can you imagine the kind of stories Mary, Jesus' mom, could tell! Take your kids back to Hometown Nazareth, where they'll stand up for their faith among people who doubt that the carpenter's son is actually God's Son. Nazareth teaches kids to love God and his Word . . . like you do.
